Remembrance Scholar: Graham Douglass
Graham Douglass has been chosen to represent Pan Am Flight 103 victim Turhan Ergin for Remembrance Week.
‘The honor comes along with the responsibility to maintain and remember the lives and dreams these students had before they died,’ Douglass said.
The scholars did research to choose which fallen student they wanted to represent.
Douglass, a 22-year-old from Kerrville Texas, said Ergin was the student with whom he most identified.
‘During my research I studied information about Turhan. I felt a special connection to him and his excitement about life,’ Douglass said. ‘He was a drama major and so am I. Our dreams and aspirations are ignited with the same passion and energy.’
Upon graduating, Douglass plans to live his life the way Ergin didn’t have the chance to.
‘I want to move to New York and put my whole heart into making it in the entertainment industry, whether it’s performing, directing or producing,’ he said. ‘Life is a crazy adventure and an opportunity to experience a great deal, and I plan on experiencing it.’
