Who is Syracuse

“Who is Syracuse?” is a series that runs in The Daily Orange every spring. It highlights individuals who embody the spirit of Syracuse University. Members of the SU community were encouraged to nominate people they thought fit this description. This series explores their stories.

Whether grooving on the floor or listening in the stands of the Carrier Dome, the 13,000-plus students at Block Party were enthusiastic and involved. Headliners Chance the Rapper and The Chainsmokers kept students on their feet for the entirety of their sets, while opener Jon Bellion brought a variety of music styles to the show.

Despite the rainy weather, students jammed to performers PUBLIC, Louis the Child and Vince Staples. There was more than just listening and dancing to musicians at Mayfest, though. Students also enjoyed free food and beer, silent disco and free tank tops courtesy of Z89 FM.
