UPDATED: Nov. 14, 2015 at 10:43 a.m.

All Syracuse University students studying abroad in Strasbourg and London who were visiting Paris are safe and accounted for following several terrorist attacks in Paris, according to tweets from SU Abroad.

A series of shootings and explosions occurred in Paris late on Friday, killing at least 120 people and injuring more than 200 in one of the city’s most heavily populated districts, according to Vox.

“We continue to work with our center staff and partners to ensure that every SU Abroad student in Paris is safe and accounted for,” SU Abroad tweeted at 8:47 p.m. on Friday.

Within the next couple of minutes, SU Abroad also tweeted that students on the SU London field trip to Paris and students visiting Paris from the SU Strasbourg program were all safe and accounted for.

Several Strasbourg students were at the soccer game in Paris, but they are all safe and they took the train back to Strasbourg this morning, according to a 8:17 a.m. Facebook post on Saturday from SU Abroad.

SU Abroad also said in the post that SU London students and two staff members had traveled to Paris on Friday for a field trip, but they are all safe and accounted for.

SU Abroad added that staff members in Paris and the center in London are in contact with independent travelers in Paris as well, and they are safe.

SU Florence program staff members are in contact with students who were traveling to Paris and they were all reported as safe, according to the Facebook post.

SU Abroad is continuing to work with their overseas staffs, International SOS and SU officials to best advise students how and when to leave Paris safely and return to their host cities, according to the Facebook post.

“Our hearts are broken for the people of Paris,” the Facebook post read. “We are keeping them in our thoughts this morning. We are also thinking of our partner schools in Paris and hope that all are safe and well.”

SU Abroad is continuing to monitor the situation and they will post updates when needed, according to the Facebook post.
