SU's party school ranking has fallen from No. 1 to No. 5 in the latest rankings from The Princeton Review.

Syracuse University has fallen from No. 1 to No. 5 on The Princeton Review’s list of top party schools in the U.S.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was rated as this year’s top party school, while the University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin-Madison and Bucknell University rounded out the top five.

In 2013, SU was rated the 10th-best party school, but was the highest-ranked private university. This year, Bucknell comes in as the top private institution.

Rankings are determined by a survey administered to 136,000 students at 380 top colleges to produce 62 different lists, according to The Princeton Review.

A day after last year’s No. 1 ranking came out, Chancellor Kent Syverud sent an email to the SU community calling the title a, “wake-up call,” for the university.

One of the school’s top party destinations, Castle Court, was barred from hosting large parties in mid-August last year.

Kevin Quinn, SU’s senior vice president for public affairs, did not immediately return an email requesting comment.
