Syracuse earns 5th seed in ACC tournament, will play Thursday at 11 a.m.

Syracuse has earned the fifth seed and a single-bye in the Atlantic Coast Conference women’s basketball tournament.

With the bye, No. 23 SU (21-8, 11-5 Atlantic Coast) will face the winner of the 12-13 matchup between Boston College (13-16, 5-11) and Wake Forest (11-19, 2-14) on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. If Syracuse wins, it would play fourth-seeded Duke on Friday at 11 a.m.

The Orange defeated Boston College twice this season by 20 points and 22 points, respectively. BC ranks second in the ACC in 3-point percentage, but shot a combined 7-for-56 against SU this season.

On Jan. 15, Syracuse beat Wake Forest 73-62 and Alexis Peterson scored 32 points. Demon Deacons senior forward Dearica Hamby scored 28 and grabbed 11 rebounds in that game. She is third in the conference in scoring and tied for second in rebounding.
