Defensive end Davis reportedly becomes 6th decommit in Syracuse’s Class of 2015

Defensive end Keivonnis Davis has decommited from Syracuse and switched his verbal to Oregon State, Scout.com’s Corey Bender reported on Wednesday night.

Davis, a Miami Central (Florida) High School senior, is the sixth Class of 2015 recruit to decommit from the Orange’s incoming recruiting class and the first to back out from SU since hybrid tight end West Lindor did so on Dec. 1. The move leaves the Orange with four defensive ends and three defensive tackles still committed.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Davis was recruited by former Syracuse wide receivers coach George McDonald, who accepted the same position at North Carolina State on Jan. 6. Davis visited the SU campus this past weekend, but told Scout that he’d still take a visit to OSU and possibly N.C. State and South Florida.

The Orange is now left with 24 verbal commits in its current class with National Signing Day coming on Feb. 4.
