With scheduled game rained out, SU beats Lehigh instead

On Tuesday, the Syracuse softball team scrambled to find a team to fill an empty hole in its schedule. Its game against Binghamton, which was scheduled for yesterday afternoon, was cancelled due to poor field conditions. It gave the Orange only a few hours to find an opponent to play.

It settled on Lehigh. Looks like Syracuse made the right choice.

The Orange beat Lehigh, 6-1, yesterday, in Allentown, Pa. The win snapped Lehigh’s 13-game winning streak.

Syracuse scored five runs in the second inning, and never trailed. Courtney Mosch recorded the win for SU (11-9).

SU plays its first home game tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Connecticut.
