Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and this year instead of handing out lame store-bought lollipops and candy to your friends, give them something a bit more special. These candies are colorful, easy to make and delicious. The extra effort you put in will be sure to impress that special someone. You can individually select the messages so you can make sure your sweetheart or friends know just how much you care (‘Love you’), or just how much you don’t (‘Dream on’).

Add to shopping cart:

8 oz. of colorful hard candies, preferably red, pink or white

1 bag of large conversation hearts

Mini muffin tin

In the kitchen:

1.) Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and grease mini muffin tin with non-stick spray.

2.) Place unwrapped hard candies into a sturdy plastic bag. Place bag on top of folded towel and smash candies into small pieces with a meat tenderizer or hammer.

3.) Fill mini muffin tin cups with smashed hard candy pieces.

4.) Melt in the oven for 6 to 8 minutes, or until fully melted.

5.) Remove tin from oven, and carefully place one large conversation heart in the center of each cup.

6.) Let cups harden, and then remove the harden candy from the cups.

7.) Hand out to friends, lovers, co-workers, etc.
